Players level 50 and higher have access to Pets, which provide a few benefits to the player while summoned, and Pet Taming for catching pets in the wild. Pets cannot be summoned in certain locations, including PvP areas, arenas, and mini games.
Types of Pets
Normal pets, as opposed to combat pets, do not accumulate experience nor provide buffs during battle, but instead have inventory space that can be accessed while the pet is summoned. These pets can be obtained through certain events or the Sky Fortress Shops.
Combat pets do not have inventory space, and they come with a level requirement to summon, but they will provide Bonus Talents and Bonus Attack while summoned, and certain pets such as Pyrros Fard have Pet Tricks which can activate when they attack. These pets are mainly obtained through Pet Taming.
Pet Taming is the process for pacifying and catching hungry monsters in the wild. They are indicated by small blue dots on the Mini Map, and their name tags are green and start with "Hungry" followed by the monster name. They are also visibly smaller than their monster counterparts, although they will grow to normal size when the taming process starts.
Monsters have a sweet tooth for Dryad Pet Candy. In order to pacify these hungry monsters, players must throw these candies (available in supply stores) at them to entice them so they'll let their guard down and approach the player.
The taming process starts when a circle and progress bar appears around the hungry monster. The color of these can be green, yellow, or red, and it indicates the capture difficulty of the hungry monster. Each candy that lands on a hungry monster has a chance to not have any effect (indicated by an exclamation mark above the hungry monster), depending on this capture difficulty.
The progress bar fills up as thrown candies take effect. However, while the monster is not receiving candy, the progress bar will drop a little every second (if it was full, it drops after 5 seconds).
Once the progress bar is full, the "Hungry" monster becomes "Docile" and available to catch, and will start following the player. To catch the docile monster, players must lead them into Snares (such as Dryad G1 Snare) placed on the ground. If the docile monster becomes hungry before stepping into the snare, or another hungry monster steps into the snare, the snare will break. It will also break if 30 seconds pass without any tamable monster stepping on it. Otherwise, the docile monster will turn into a pet item and drop on the ground for the player to pick up.
The rarity of the captured pet is influenced by the grade of the Dryad Snare used and the capture difficulty. Currently, Normal, Rare, Exceptional, and Epic grades are available through Pet Taming.
Pets from Dungeon Drops
Hard Dungeons and Chaos Raids have a small chance to reward players with a pet modeled from the dungeon's boss. These pets are always Exceptional grade, and they each have a Pet Trick.
While summoned, pets grant the owner a few benefits. All pets come with three basic abilities:
- Auto-revive: Automatically revives the player from a normal tombstone (not a metal one) after a few seconds.
- Use item: Automatically uses a consumable after passing an HP threshold. Players can set two different thresholds, each with a different item, which can be in the pet's inventory.
- Auto-loot: The pet moves around to pick up items. Pet's auto-loot settings are different than the owner's auto-loot settings.
Combat pets grant additional combat bonuses to the owner, detailed below.
Combat pets have bonus attack which increases as the pet levels up. 40% of the pet's bonus attack is converted to bonus attack for the player, although this value is not shown in the Character window. The amount of bonus attack that a pet starts with and gains per level depends on its rarity and level requirement.
|Pet Bonus Attack|
|Rarity||Level Requirement||Base Bonus Attack||Bonus Attack Per Level||Max Bonus Attack (at level 50)|
Combat pets can have a number of bonus talents depending on the rarity. Up until the 2019/05/29 update, each talent could only be unlocked after the pet reached certain level thresholds. Since the update, all talents are unlocked from level 1.
|Rare||1 bonus talent, unlocked at level 50|
|Exceptional||2 bonus talents, unlocked at levels 30 and 50|
|Epic||3 bonus talents, unlocked at levels 10, 30, and 50|
The bonus talents themselves are similar to equipment's Bonus Attributes, granting various stat bonuses to the player.
|Pet Bonus Talents|
|Attribute||Bonus Range (Min. - Max.)|
|Health||17 - 170|
|Movement Speed||1% - 5%|
|Physical/Magical Attack||1 - 16|
|Piercing||0.4% - 4.0%|
|Physical/Magical Piercing||0.5% - 5.0%|
|Accuracy||1 - 5|
|Critical Rate||6 - 60|
|Critical Damage||18 - 180|
|Melee/Ranged Damage||0.6% - 4.2%|
|Total Damage||0.4% - 4.0%|
|Attack Speed||1% - 5%|
A pet's talents can be changed, only if their rarity is Exceptional or higher. Changing talents requires Green Crystals, Crystal Fragments, and Metacells, higher rarities requiring larger amounts. The material amount also increases per pet per reroll. Crystal Fragment cost increases by an minimally increasing amount per reroll, while Metacell cost increases by a flat amount per reroll.
|Pet Talent Change Starting Costs|
|Rarity||Green Crystals||Crystal Fragments||Metacells|
|Exceptional||4||100 + 15+ per reroll||100 + 20 per reroll|
|Epic||9||300 + 45+ per reroll||500 + 100 per reroll|

Leveling Combat Pets
Combat pets can level up to a max level of 50, and each level requires the same amount of experience, but this amount differs depending on the rarity and level requirement.
|Pet Experience Requirements|
|Rarity||Level Requirement||EXP Needed Every Level|
Pets gain miniscule amounts of experience as the player defeats monsters. The much better alternative is using Pet Fusion, which involves "feeding" other pets to one pet, granting large amounts of experience. There is a meso fee for each pet fused depending on the target pet's rarity and the level of the catalyst's pet.
The amount of experience a pet gains from fusing another pet is: rarity base amount + 80% of catalyst's experience + daily fusion bonus - daily fusion penalty
The first 24 pets fused per day grants flat fusion bonuses which vary depending on the pet's level requirement. The counter resets at midnight. Note that non-pet catalysts (such as Fusion Stone Dust) do not trigger fusion bonuses. After using up these 24 fusion bonuses, there is a penalty that increases by 2/90 of the base amount per additional pet fusion, up until 78/90 (80%).
|Pet Fusion Details|
|Rarity||Level Requirement||Base EXP granted as a catalyst||Fusion Bonus EXP||Base meso cost for fusion (target pet)||Additional mesos per catalyst level|
A combat pet of rarity Exceptional or lower that has reached its max level can be evolved, bringing its rarity to the next level. The pet will gain the improved benefits of the higher rarity including higher bonus attack and an additional talent. However, the pet's level will be reset to 1.
Pets that are eligible for evolution will show an evolution experience bar at the bottom of its tooltip. Evolution experience is gained by feeding copies of the pet of the same rarity. Exceptional pets require 80 copies, and each fusion costs 200,000 mesos. When the evolution experience bar is full, the pet is ready to be evolved to the next tier.
